Entrance and General Access

Step-free access is provided via a gentle ramp from the parking area. A wide front door leads into a spacious hallway with room for mobility equipment, coats and storage. The open-plan layout allows easy movement between the kitchen, dining and living areas. This entrance is the main emergency evacuation point, with additional exit routes available via sliding doors to the outside.

Kitchen and Dining – Accessible Features

The fully equipped accessible kitchen includes an adjustable-height worktop and induction hob, allowing wheelchair users to cook comfortably. The microwave and cooker are positioned at a lower height and include pull-out surfaces for safe handling of hot dishes.

The dining area includes an extendable table seating up to six, with a mix of armchairs and armless chairs. Please note there is a ledge beneath the table that may affect wheelchair positioning. A high chair is available on request. Additional appliances include a standard-height oven, sink and dishwasher.

Living Area and Accessible Outdoor Space

The living area includes comfortable seating with clearance for a mobile hoist if required (hoist not provided but can be arranged separately). A Smart TV with remote control is provided. A wood burner is available, with an initial supply of logs included.

Large sliding doors lead to a non-slip, step-free decking area overlooking the lake and surrounding countryside. The wrap-around glass balcony includes seating, a terrace and fire pit, making it suitable for outdoor relaxation and wheelchair access.

Accessible Bedroom with Profiling Bed

The main accessible bedroom is located off the hallway and includes a wide single Opera Signature Comfort Plus profiling bed with electric adjustment and optional padded side rails. The bed has lockable castors and is operated via a wired hand control with large buttons. An overhead ceiling track hoist runs directly from the bedroom into the wet room. The room includes a TV and level access to the outdoor decking.

Accessible Wet Room and Bathroom

The adjoining wet room is fully accessible and includes a ceiling track hoist throughout. Guests must read and agree to specialist instructions before hoist use. Facilities include an Astor Bannerman adjustable-height changing table, level-access shower, toilet with pull-down support arms, non-slip flooring and a shower chair available on request.
